The Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA) with the help of GLHN Architects & Engineers, Inc. analyzed the 400 W. Congress building and determined that because of age and lack of functionality, the existing mechanical equipment must be replaced. GLHN created the plan to utilize an existing auxiliary chiller plant in good weather to facilitate replacing existing building mechanical equipment.
What ACCO Delivered
ACCO was contracted as the plan-spec team member for the mechanical scope, removing the old mechanical equipment and working alongside ADOA, GLHN, and SD Crane to install new mechanical equipment. This equipment included two York chillers, two EVAPCO cooling towers, nine variable frequency drives, four pumps, exhaust fans, a heat exchanger, and much more. ACCO completed this project under-budget and ahead of schedule, helping to minimize the impact on a critical facility like the ADOA – home of the Supreme Court of the State of Arizona and the Tucson office of Arizona Governor, Katie Hobbs.
